Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan featured in new Fifty Shades Darker movie posters!
Dakota Johnson discusses the upcoming sequel of Fifty Shades and also having James Foley as the director of the film.
“It’s quite exciting,” she told Empire Online. “There was a moment of being afraid, because I didn’t know what it was going to be like. I had an experience with Sam [Taylor-Johnson] and then that all went away. Now I’m excited. I think James is a talented filmmaker. How often do you get to reconvene with the same people and have a different spin?”
She was also asked about Jame’s approach will be different from Taylor-Johnson.
“I have. You’ll just have to see when the movie comes out…”
We are sure looking forward to see the finalized outcome of the film!
‘Fifty Shades Darker’, the follow-up to box office hit ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’, is confirmed to be released in theaters on February 10, 2017 with production to begin by next year. Main stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are also said to be returning on set bringing with them yet again more rumors of off-screen romances.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, it was Universal Pictures that made the official announcement. Included in this statement was the release date for the third movie in the series, ‘Fifty Shades Freed’, which will come out on February 9, 2018. It was also reported that previous director Sam-Taylor Johnson won’t be returning for the sequel after having creative differences with ‘Fifty Shades’ author E.L. James thereby leaving the director’s chair open. Niall Leonard, husband to Ms. James, will write the script for the second film.
Ever since its prequel dominated charts last February 9, 2015, rumors have been going around of actors Dornan and Johnson that they could be involved in an off-screen romance. The two play main characters Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele respectively. Now, with the return of the hype due to an upcoming movie, the on-screen lovers are pushed back to the spotlight. It’s safe to say though that no such romance goes beyond the movie screen. Continue reading Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson Debunk Rumors on Off-Screen Romance
Mr. Fifty Shades is getting in on the action.
EL James, the author of the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy, has enlisted her husband to write the script for the sequel, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.
Niall Leonard, who is married and has two sons with the British author, is an author himself, in addition to being a screenwriter. He’s written for the British TV shows Air Force One Is Down and Wire in the Blood, among others. He’s also the author of the Crusher book series. He also worked on the script for the first Fifty Shades but was not credited.
“Niall is an outstanding writer in his own right, with multiple established credits, and we are lucky to have him join Team Fifty,” says producer Michael De Luca in a statement to THR.
James, whose real name is Erika Leonard, has been credited with keeping a strong amount of creative control when it comes to Universal’s adaptations of her books. On the first film, she clashed with director Sam Taylor-Johnson about many aspects of the film, including the ending. Neither Taylor-Johnson nor screenwriter Kelly Marcel are returning for the sequel.
Due to the exit of Taylor-Johnson and Marcel, and the fact that stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, are negotiating for more money for the sequel, there hasn’t been much news on the follow-up. The first film earned a massive $568.8 million worldwide.
There have been rumors circling that James wanted to write the screenplay herself. But having her husband work on it may be a happy compromise since he has screenwriting experience that James lacks.
